There are two basic types of peach trees;one peach tree is a freestone and the other peach tree is a clingstone.



A freestone peach when pressured from the side splits open to reveal the seed in the center, making it easy to eat the pulp from the separated peach seed.



A clingstone peach such as the Indian Blood Peach tree grows a peach with a seed that sticks to the pulp, and these peaches are generally canned as pickled peaches, and the peach is small enough to be easily placed inside a quart jar.




The Suwanee peach ripens during the end of May and can be gathered throughout the month of June for fresh eating.
